A GREAT REALISATION

Romans 8:28 – 30

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  For those that God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

There comes a time in every person’s life when they begin to realise that there is much more to life than just going to work and spending money.   And then when we do try to become more spiritual we find ourselves questioning whether or not we have the depth of spiritual strength or knowledge to even begin to do God’s work.

We are all natural doubters who do not always grasp the concept that God is working in us to make us what he wants us to be.  God loves us and will not abandon us or deprive us of anything that we might need to perform his work.  God has a purpose for each one of us and God will provide us with all that we need.

God knows our every need and is able to supply us with every last thing that we will require to do His work.  Is there any reason to have any doubt about the power of God to transform us and accomplish his design for us?   Imagine that you were some kind of mechanical engine that needed to be constantly provided with fuel to continue to operate.  God has filled our tank to overflowing to the extent that we have no option other than to share what we have been provided with.

Acts 17:28

For in him we live, and move, and have our being.

Lots of people just lose the plot and think that just going to Church now and then is going to be enough.   Or maybe it’s just too much trouble and even switching on the TV to watch a Church service becomes a chore and very quickly even the thought becomes too much.  Then we wonder why life is so dull and meaningless and why there are so many problems.

What is difficult for me to understand is that although I know that I should be devoting more time to my spiritual well being and I know that my troubles are caused by this lifestyle, I continue to cling to this way of life as being my “comfort” zone.  What a fraud I am!

The Bible assures me that being “IN” Christ will fill me with an energising power that will take make me alive and move my very being.  An energising power that comes from God has more potential to achieve things in our lives that we could not even begin to imagine when we were still “outside” of Christ.

When you realise that Christ Jesus can be alive in your spirit and when you invite Him to into your life, you will begin upon a journey of wonderful discovery that will be the most awesome experience you have ever had.  Jesus will become your motivating power and you will find yourself doing things that you never thought possible before.   If you let Him into your life you will undergo a significant change and meaning and purpose will no longer be a mystery.

God showers us with blessings and gifts and we need to celebrate the blessings and use the gifts that we have been so generously provided with.  Feeling inferior and cringing through life will disappear and you will be filled with confidence and assurance.

Boldly stand up and stand out, Christ Jesus did not enter your life for you to be insignificant.

Added to all this is the peace and assurance that His indwelling presence gives us, it establishes a very special and personal relationship between you and God.   You will be filled with spiritual power that will enable you to achieve your purpose in life and you will soon find that the spiritual heights that you thought were beyond your reach will now become easily reachable.

Looking again at the verses above –

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

For those that God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Prayer

Help me Lord to come to understand and accept that having you working in my life empowers me to accomplish more than I could ever dream and that spiritual fulfilment can only be reached through answering your call.

Father we thank you for the blessings and talents you have given us, thank you for providing everything we need to perform your work.   Hear our prayer Lord as we ask these things in the name of your Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross that we might be saved.

Amen
